How can I make my cat super happy?

Catnip plants for your cat to keep indoors. Catnip is not only a digestive aid, it is a delicious food many cats enjoy its taste. For the uninitiated, catnip is a high fiber cereal, usually barley oats wheat or a combination thereof, and it can easily be grown indoors in pots. You can find containers of catnip or catnip seeds at pet stores or garden centers. Visit petgrass.com to order organic catnip online.

2..Provide an appropriate number of boxes one per cat

Cats will be very careful not to share the litter box. By providing a box for each cat (and cleaning it regularly! you will reduce the risk of box-related accidents. Cats defecating improperly read outside of their litter boxes is one of the main reasons cats are abandoned in shelters. Avoid the frustration of bathroom accidents by giving your cat a place to go.We love the NOR Miss Litter box.

This does a lot of things: grip, untangle the hair and therefore prevents the hair, it allows you to check your cat and see any changes or painful areas so you can make Let your doctor know if it is necessary. If your cat doesn't like brushing at first, have a few treats on hand to sweeten the deal and make sure it combines grooming time with something good.

Bonus: brushing will greatly reduce cat hair sticking to the surface/blowing around your house! For all types of shedding cats, long-haired or short haired, we sport the Furbliss multi function silicone brush.

Spending active time with your cat every day will strengthen your bond and improve your cat's mental and physical well being. Many people mistakenly think that their cat doesn't like to play, but it's probably just wrong. Try different types of games both high and sliding on the floor, as well as children's games.

If you have several cats, separate them and play with them individually. Sometimes cats don't play with other cats. Toys to try The Peek a Boo Mouse Interactive Toy ($20, petplay.com) stimulates your cat's curiosity and understanding by changing speed and direction!

5..Install a Window Perch

Give your indoor cat plenty of space to enjoy the sunlight streaming in through the windows and watch the birds and squirrels outside. This keeps them focused. Most perches are cheap and easy to install.

We like the Kitty Kot Window Perch, pictured ($40, kittykot.com). It uploads to Windows in seconds, no tools required! thanks to the very strong water cup, gives your cat easy protection to install the bird's eye.

All cats, both indoor and outdoor, must be micro chipped. If your cat runs away and goes missing, having its microchip tested increases your chances of being reunited. A study of more than 7,700 stray animals in zoos showed that cats without microchips bonded with their owners only 1.8% of the time, while micro chipped cats bonded with their owners 38.5% of the time.

In the case of micro chipped cats not returned to their owners, this is often due to outdated contact details (or no contact information recorded at all!) in the microchip record database. Remember that you need to register your information when the chip is installed and keep your information up to date.

How and when should you update your information? If you move change your phone number or email address, or are no longer the primary contact, you need to update your contact information.

To do this, call your chip manufacturer (Avid or Microchip ID Solutions are just two examples) give them the chip ID, and tell them your new information. Not sure what kind of crack it is? You can look it up on the American Animal Hospital Association website, at Pet Micro Chip Look Up.org, or call your veterinarian;

if they have installed the chip, they should have this information on file It's also a good idea to register your cat at foundanimals.org a database that stores contact details for all types of microchips regardless of manufacturer.
