1..Arguments in favor of free food

In a multi cat household,if you feed the cats in a large common food bowl or even several cat food bowls in one room, and feed them all at the same time, you will not have ability to meet local needs. of cats. Having only one place to eat and a small number of ways to get it can be enough to create the kind of mealtime tension that leads to fights and bullying. Some cats may be hungry while others are afraid of them.

Lots of food and media are simple but important ways to keep space between your cats, allow them to spend quality time together, and keep them happy. Free feeding, which involves keeping cat food available at all hours of the day and night, preferably in several places around the house, is another solution. Why free food? Cats with small stomachs pass out within a few hours. An empty stomach is not fun, especially if it stays empty for hours.

Cats that are allowed to regulate their diet usually eat up to nine to sixteen servings per day and seem to start eating this way. It is not surprising that cats that are fed only twice a day, at scheduled feeding times, can become irritable and gain weight if they are not fed on time. Their stomachs will growl and their dinner conversations can be very sarcastic (sometimes even hostile), leading them to take out their unhappiness on each other.

A dominant cat will want to make sure everyone knows they are in control and will get the food first. Cats who worry about food shortages may be so worried about maintaining their dominance that they bully the lower cat, not only at feeding time but at other times of the day. .

Even a cat that doesn't need to share food with other cats is happiest when it can easily follow the routine of its body. Whenever cats eat, they are happier, more moody and emotional. Many people are completely unaware that their cat is under food stress until they notice a difference in their cat's behavior when they start feeding them free or feed them more than twice a day.

Cats that are fed on a human approved schedule are less compliant and aggressive than cats that are allowed to eat on their own schedule. In most cases, you don't have to worry about free-feeding cats gaining weight. In fact, I have seen big cats gain weight as soon as food is available because as soon as they realize that there will be enough food for them and that they don't need to swallow all at once, they stop overeating. Free feeding can also reduce the tendency of some cats to swallow their food and regurgitate it later.

If a cat can't regulate its diet, I don't recommend free feeding. You can create a big cat. For these cats, a regular feeder feeding four or more times a day is ideal. You don't increase caloric intake just by the frequency of feeding. However, for cats that know how to schedule their meals and that obesity is not a problem (75 to 90% of cats), I would go so far as to say that feeding them twice a day is the way to go. not good.

Scattering food can have a surprisingly positive effect on the happiness and harmony of your family. Place food dishes in different places around the house (not only different areas of the kitchen or bathroom), but for free food and organizing. There should be a large food bowl for cats. Eating cat food is a surefire way to trigger behavior problems.

Try to keep the bowls at different levels, some on the floor and others on the table or windowsill. A smiling cat may not feel comfortable eating on the floor.

3..Water Water Everywhere

Water is as important to a cat's health as it is to us. Water helps soften hard stools, digest and absorb nutrients from food, regulate body temperature, and remove waste. Cats can survive for days without food, but their body functions cease if they are deprived of water.

As with the food bowl all it takes is one cat sitting next to the water bowl or on the path leading to it to scare another cat away. So share the wealth of water.

Have you ever wondered why your cat likes to drink from your cup? Or from anywhere other than the bowl of water next to his food? Cats tend to drink water away from dead animals, which in the wild can contaminate their water with bacteria. To honor this survival instinct, separate their dead animals, which is the food they bought, from their water. Food and water should be kept separate from your cat's litter box.

To make water beautiful, make it cool. I refill my cat's water several times a day, and I recommend you do this if your cat is not drinking enough. A plate should be wide or full to the brim. For what? Because cats' whiskers are very sensitive. They can scoop water with their fingers and pour it on the floor, instead of sticking their noses into a bowl that is narrow or not big enough to drink from.

Cats love tap water, so if your cat doesn't seem to drink from its bowl, Try a fountain. Cats are notorious for not drinking enough water, and these simple prescriptions can improve their chances of getting what they need. it is not
