What is the difference between a behaviour problem and a problem behaviour?

Cats are masters of the art of disguise. In the animal world, cats win the gold medal for their ability to mask and hide pain. Their obvious symptoms can be so subtle that often, a change in behavior is the only sign that something is wrong. Unfortunately, many social workers often don't recognize the cause of behavior change until it becomes too obvious or difficult to live with. There are many behaviors that are actually caused by health problems.

1..Jumping off the beaten path

Elimination outside the box may have nothing to do with the cat not seeing the box, its condition, or its cleanliness, which are often cited as potential causes of elimination problems. An often overlooked cause is discomfort when using the litter box due to the medical pain it causes, which can lead to long-term avoidance of the litter box. This withdrawal can last long after the health problem is gone.

Normally, constipated cats pass only one or two dry fecal balls at a time. Stools are often placed on the road around the house. This activity facilitates peristalsis (movement of the colon) and creates the sudden urge to go. Most of the time, these cats urinate in the box and are normal in almost everything else. Constipated cats often urinate while moving around. These cats often start out in the litter box.

They break and move, dig and even cover as if they are exhausted. They also walk in one or two rooms in the box, this work makes the intestines easier, so another fecal ball comes out. This fecal ball can be placed in a small amount of water. Or maybe it's just urine, nothing. Did the family dog eat it? Or does it mean nothing but urine? Another sign of constipation can be vomiting, although this is secondary to stress.

The cat is full of feces, which puts pressure in the stomach and does not leave enough space for food, thus causing vomiting. Some cats develop perianal hernias that cause discomfort and prolonged straining. Until constipation and motility needs are addressed, behavioral problems cannot be resolved. The dialog will include any changes made to the box, its location, etc. to such an extent.

A bag that has too much force or impact can make stool painful to pass, create a bad connection with the litter box, or cause friction.

Scooting is another common complaint of muscle related problems often caused by a situation where the cat is too big or arthritis to be able to reach the back and correct itself properly when it is eliminated.

Urinary crystals, bladder stones, bacterial infections, cystitis, vaginitis, urethritis, or just dirty soil can be the reason why cats urinate outside the box. It may even be a question of weapons.

5..Logistics

Do cats with diabetes or chronic kidney disease have behavior problems if they choose to pee on the carpet? Most of the time, this is not true. These cats should be urinating more frequently and more loudly. Most of the time the box given to them is very full, so, in their opinion, there is no clean place to stand, so they find an attractive and clean place.

  • Replace the current box with a larger one
  • Bring out the puppy mat as an option if the interest in fruits has already started

Cats that urinate outside the litter box may have a recurrence of a previously diagnosed urinary crystal problem, which, in the owner's opinion, has been resolved. The current prescription urine diet is this cat medicine. It should be fed for life or until the individual's needs change. If the cat goes back to eating what it eats after being diagnosed with struvite crystals specifically, the problem may recur.

8..Urinary cystitis

  • Cats with cystitis are usually treated well but not given the long-term care needed to get the cat back into the box.

Cystitis often requires long-term chronic pain management and environmental changes, and stress is the main cause of this health problem. They may need anti-anxiety medication to help them cope, but they need to play more, be challenged, feed through puzzles, and provide them with a rich environment.

Cats need to feel in control. This gives them great comfort, thereby reducing stress, reducing bladder pain and, therefore, increasing litter box compliance.

Arthritis in cats is often underdiagnosed because the symptoms are milder.

10...What are the symptoms of arthritis in cats?
  • Trash on the beaten track
  • Lack of dressing, especially on the back half of the body and on the back
  • Does not want to be fed, especially in the back half of the body
  • Can't get things that were previously easy to do

Think about what it would be like to walk on the beach at age 85. It's hard to stay on the sand when your hips and knees don't work as well as they used to. This is why choosing a stable bed!

11..Declares

The paws are arguably one of the most sensitive parts of a cat's body. Cats carry 60% of their body weight on their front paws. After onychectomy, the technical term for declaring, humans ask the amputee to walk on gravel, pine nuggets, crystal silica litter and newspaper clippings.

Approved cats may choose to bathe on carpets, rugs, beds, piles of bedding, or other soft surfaces. Sometimes, something smooth, different from the painful texture of the grass, will be enough. A cat declared a disabled cat. These cats need pain management, joint support, and soft toys.

12..Obesity and arthritis are linked to elimination-pathways

Many customers think that their cat is looking away or running outside the box when in reality, all the cat is doing is going over the pan! Liquid urine or feces outside the litter box is not a moral problem. The box is small, the cat is large, or both.

Old cats with arthritis are to blame. They can't sink down to urinate like they could before, so some go over the edge or don't want to urinate properly when they urinate. Get a big box with high sides, cut the bottom hole for easy access, and cure arthritis!

What about a big cat that hasn't seen its fish in years? This cat is not removed from the beaten track due to behavioral problems. It's hot, uncomfortable and needs a haircut and hygiene and weight loss! Cat parents will learn to wash their hair at home!

13...A lot of preparation

Most of us know that cats can control themselves because of pain. This is a self-soothing practice. If a cat that is defecating outside the box has a bald stomach, please have their urine tested, checked for constipation/GI abnormalities, and check under their tails. They can be very overweight, so they wash their belly bald and do their best!

Symmetrical over-preparation is a stress-resistant technique, but not always. A cat with hair and a "quick" rash on the back on both sides of the tail may have a gland problem. Or, if the cat is large, it may not be able to move forward. Sewing in front of the front and symmetrical is often stressful, but it can also be easy because of arthritis pain or expressing pain.

14..Attack

Pain is often associated with irritation. Cats can become angry and aggressive towards humans and their pets due to pain, itching, or discomfort. This presents itself as a moral problem, but we need to look at the bigger picture.

Is the cat too fat? Maybe they haven't been able to reach their backs with their tongues to groom themselves over the years. The result is violence. Breeding can be very painful or exciting, resulting in biting and beating.

Cats with fleas are itchy, irritable, and have a short fuse, leading to frustration and anger among the household. Larger cats with fleas suffer more. A thin cat can get rid of all the fleas, but a big cat can't relax and get rid of ectoparasites.

2..Petting can be painful or overly stimulating, leading to biting and crushing.

If the irritation caused by petting continues, the patient may show physical intolerance or hyperesthesia syndrome that requires further medical attention and advice. Either way, it's best to leave these cats wanting more. If five colors make you bite, stop at three. Leave them wanting to be touched instead of pushing them to the edge! Hold on to the head, neck, and chin, as most cats prefer to be petted.

Hyperthyroidism is one of the most common symptoms of hyperthyroidism in cats. High blood pressure is another very common medical condition that causes symptoms of stress and volume overload.

Mental retardation and/or deafness are other reasons why a cat may be loud. When cognitive impairment occurs, early intervention is essential to reduce and control symptoms. Multiplication (complex food and new environmental changes) is good for this.

Although it is true that many cats have old behavior problems that people who take care of them cannot cope with, in many cases these behaviors started because of unnecessary problems or problems.
